Albert “Edward” Linville, age 89 of Miamisburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday December 31, 2009 from Sycamore Medical Center under the care of Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 18, 1920 in Dayton to the late Ranklin and Charlotte (Foster) Linville. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Julian Linville. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dorothy M. (Moore) Linville of Miamisburg; daughters, Dottie A. Linville of Miamisburg and Susan (David) Black of Dayton; grandchildren, Ryan Black of Dayton and Natalie (Jason) Lee of Dunlap, IL; great grandson, Jonathan M. Lee; sister, Nina Bell of Jamestown, IN; nephews, Mark and David and a niece Ruth Ann. Ed was a 1939 graduate of Miamisburg High School. He married Dorothy December 21, 1940 and they had just celebrated their 69th Anniversary. Ed was employed 4 years at NCR before his 36 year career with GM as a tool and die maker. Ed and Dorothy were charter members of Miamisburg Christian Church and former members of Ferry Church of Christ which is now recognized as Crossview Christian Church. Ed was a trustee of Butler Springs Christian Assembly and a member of Good Sam Camping Club for 20 plus years. Ed was a loving father and devoted husband and challenged himself daily to recognize the needs of others as an opportunity to serve the Lord. His family is very proud to have such a kind, patient and generous man as their role model. Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home has arranged a homecoming celebration scheduled for 11:00am, Monday, January 4, 2010 at Miamisburg Christian Church, 1146 E. Central Ave., Miamisburg, officiated by Larry Pierson. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, January 3 from 2:00-5:00pm also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Person to Person Ministries at 5845 St. Rt. 154, P.O. Box 39, Hillsboro, OH 45133.
